Totally Talkable Thursday.

1. I think it's the week of spiders. Monica had a spider incident that freaked me out but it was nothing compared to what happened when I saw this bad boy. 

2. Walking through the parking lot today I was minding my own business until this guy threw open his truck door right in my face. I ran into him, he ran into his door, we both awkwardly stumbled to catch our balance, the eggs in my grocery sack broke and the brunette in her car watching the whole thing almost swallowed her cigarette laughing. Good times. Why am I such a clutz?

3. So far my pinterest boards have 289 recipes (involving either chocolate or pumpkin) and 213 outfits and 4 workouts. Oops.

4. Did you read about the guy who ran a marathon in flip flops? Yes, he did. Did I mention he ran the whole thing in 2:46? What a beast. My feet hurt just THINKING about it!! Read about it here.

Totally Talkable Thursday.

1. Yesterday when I was pumping fuel, a spider crawled on my hand from the nozzle and 30 minutes later a black beetle flew down my shirt when I walked out of the grocery store. BUGS- things I don't love about fall!!

2. Fall Baking Rocks. So far I've done more baking this month than the entire rest of the year combined. I've also had extra time off this month, but it's all good. This recipe for apple yogurt cake is fantastic. I made a couple alterations to lower the butter & sugar content, but it's really terrific just the way it is.
 

3. My favorite all-natural peanut butter got recalled for salmonella. Thankfully I hadn't opened it yet--back it goes!!

4. I have been meditating on these 2 verses everyday this week. I am so grateful for my precious Jesus and the difference He has made in my life.
"Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength." Isaiah 40: 28 & 29

1. Our small town Library is the cream of the crop. We seriously have the best Library and staff ever. I practically lived in the Library as a child, but I haven't checked out a book since I graduated from High School. Major problemo.

2. Kansas sunsets are the best. Kansas sunsets from the wheels of my bike are the best of the best.

3. When I was little I would ask my Dad what his favorite color was and he would always say black. This appalled me. I couldn't understand why with SO many pretty colors in the world, he liked black the best. I asked him everyday hoping he would change his mind and actually like something pretty. :)

4.  Every blogger I know is eating apple butter this week. I can't get any locally, so I have been eating baked apples like nobody's business. It's not helping. I still want apple butter.

1. Midnight shifts are a Pinterest addict's best friend. I can't speak from experience, but I do a fair amount of pinning. I appreciate the multitude of recipes and have found some absolutely perfect concoctions!

2. I am definitely in an apple mood! My friend Natalie and I made some super tasty apple pie filling a couple of weeks ago and I have used it in everything but pie. :) It's great in oatmeal! When we made it we used more spices and less sugar so it's almost exclusively just appley goodness and not too sweet. 

3. I was happy to introduce my nephew and niece to a new passion- K-State football. They watched nearly the entire game with me on Saturday night. Neither of their parents are even remotely interested in sports of any nature, so I've taken complete responsibility for instilling a deeply rooted love for K-State athletics in them. 

4. Yesterday we celebrated my brother's 16th birthday. He's quite the cute little jokester. While we were eating his birthday supper he remarked "You know, I was just thinking today that I haven't had a birthday in a whole year!" :) 

Totally Talkable Thursday.

1. Fall.........almost here. This means unlimited happiness; pumpkins, football, deer hunting, chilly morning runs, bon fires, Holidays, so much awesomeness!

2. Is there anything greater than being an Aunt?? The plan is to spoil these two cutesters this weekend while their parents get in an anniversary get-away.

3. Popcorn jellybeans. I know we already talked about these, but seriously?? Best. jellybean. ever.

4. The left ankle is definitely feeling a little weird today. Today's a cross training day before I have a long run on tap for tomorrow morning.

Totally Talkable Thursday.

1. I have yet to figure out why anyone would ever design an article of clothing without pockets. I have bought clothing that I will never wear for the sole reason that it has pockets! I am sure that at some point, some person in the US is going to drop their phone and sue the company of the clothes they are wearing because they are pocket less.

2. Chai tea is pretty much an exceptional mood booster. I have yet to meet a cup I didn't like. I have to say, Starbucks has nailed their iced chai recipe. I've contemplated working there just to get their recipe.

3. This week my brother had a non-injury wreck after he blew a tire in his vehicle. Ya'll have any idea how expensive insurance is for a 15 year old male?? Add a couple of zeroes and you have the adjusted number post- wreck. Seeing as it wasn't even his fault, I feel super bad for him. Praise Jesus he was unharmed!!

4. Everytime I get ready to say the words "I like Country music"; they play a Jason Aldean song and I quickly change my mind. And then Jason Aldean goes and writes "Tattoos on this Town" and "Fly over States" and I immediately realize that I don't like Country music. I LOVE it.

Every Thursday; 4 things you need to know before you die.

1. My OCD backfired on me last night. My iphone told me I had an update available for my pinterest app. As a general rule of thumb, my iphone will self destruct if I do not update the apps immediately upon seeing that little red number pop up. Since the update I now officially hate pinterest on my iphone. Be warned- don't accept the update no matter how annoying and life-threatening that red number may be. 

2. I am admittedly the most uncreative person on the planet but I do have a soft spot for hand made/custom designed greeting cards. I purposely avoid craft fairs because I cannot afford to buy every adorable card I fall in love with. I can't bear to part with the really cute ones, so they don't even ever get filled out or sent.

3. Speaking spanish with the wait staff at Mexican resturants can be entertaining. Today my waiter had the case of the down in the dumps and needed a listening ear. I'm glad to oblige fella! Hope your land lord evicts your noisy neighbors so you can sleep and not look tired all the time. :)

4. While I am generally not a clutzy person, I had more than my fair share of oopsies yesterday. My lunch date with a friend involved knocking over a broom and hitting my head on a hanging light fixture. Before the afternoon was out I also couldn't get my car out of park, dropped a pack of gum in the toilet and broke a pair of sunglasses.
